OUR STORY
In the 70s our founder Lee Mackey set out to fill a critical gap in public safety—offering security and investigation services that were fast, flexible, and personal. While attending Sam Houston State University, Mackey started out at Huntsville Police Department, and quickly realized the need that needed to be filled during that time. What began as a one-man operation quickly grew into a trusted, full-service security company with offices across Texas. Over the decades, we’ve protected political figures, business leaders, families, and businesses—delivering high-level security with the same family-operated care we were founded on.
Early Beginnings
In our early years, we became known for:
• Executive protection teams for high-profile clients
• Guard patrols at irregular intervals for maximum deterrence
• Specialized K9 units (attack, tracking, drug & bomb detection dogs)
• Electronic bug sweeps and advanced alarm systems
• Polygraph and handwriting analysis for investigative accuracy.
Before Mackey retired, he ran the Texas Marshal Service for the 12 th Judicial District Court in Walker County and worked closely with other agencies in the early years.

Meet Myka
As CEO of Resources Security Inc., Myka Zito leads with both experience and passion for protecting Texas families and businesses. In 2023, following the passing of her father, founder Lee Mackey, Myka stepped in to carry forward the legacy he built. Myka graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice.
Alongside her husband, Dustin Zito, the company’s COO, Myka has continued to grow the business while honoring its deep roots in family values and trust.
Outside of security, Myka competes in the North Western Tennis League and manages a portfolio of
real estate and oil & gas properties, bringing the same strategic thinking to her investments as she does to running Resources Security Inc.

Meet Dustin
Dustin Zito brings over 25 years of operational and project management expertise to Resources Security Inc. as Chief Operating Officer.
With a background as a Senior Project Control Specialist and current role as Scheduling Manager at Western Midstream, Dustin has extensive experience in the oil & energy sector. His career includes key roles at major companies such as Oxy, Anadarko, and others.
His skills span petroleum operations, progress monitoring, cost engineering, constructability, and
project coordination making him highly effective in overseeing Resources Security’s finances, operations, and strategic growth.
Dustin holds a degree in Construction Management from Louisiana State University.
